Roosevelt Students Bring Interesting Show and Tell to School

Roosevelt students Gage Schwartz and Kaleb Maxson recently brought some very interesting show and tell items to share with Roosevelt classes. They showed a petrified buffalo skull they recently found in the Arkansas River. They also shared facts about buffaloes, such as the fact that Native Americans did not waste any part of a buffalo. They found a use for everything including using the hide for tee pees. Their favorite fact was that they used buffalo dung for fire fuel.
The two boys also showed a picture of a mammoth tooth they found last month in the Arkansas River. The tooth is currently at the University of Oklahoma being put through a preservation process. They young presenters had small fragments of the tooth for their peers to examine.
